I finally decided to write about this, after dealing with the very problem yesterday and day before. No big deal for me, but I know what could happen if you don't do anything about it. Oh, I am currently monitoring my fuel/air mixture with an O2 sensor in teh exhaust header, I read the output with a regulat multimeter, sitting on the passenger seat. The only thing I would add is.... not all O2 sensors will operate at the same mv range. Depends on the vehicle it was intended for. According to the info I have been able to dig up, the Bosch O2 sensor for a 3 series BMW would be around 0.45 volts in a 14.7/1 air fuel ratio setting. I'm sure that there are other sensors that display similar variations. ...

depends on the type O2 sensor... there are two types that I know of... titania and zirconia.... most vehicles use the zirconia kind... but there are titania ones and they are completely different.......

Actually Jan... my car seems to run better now than it did before... I'm not driving the car much... i will try and get around to putting those seals in soon... when my engine dies... you can say I told you so... but either both sides are leaking or neither are... maybe i can find a leak with a stethoscope? we'll see... my car flies :) I promise i won't take it out to the track until i fix the leak though :) or put that vair engine in it :)...
