     1) New Mousketeers were TOO SLICK not like the kids         next door when original Mouseketeers were shown. Interesting.  I wonder what those 1977 test audiences would have thought of the smart ass mousketeer kids of the 90s. Hell - kids don't even mow the grass these days!

Speaking as one who grew up watching the original (television) MMC - albeit not the first year, because I don't remember any hourlong episodes - that would mean that I was in high school, college and the US Army in the late '60's/early '70's. I was bad. I remember watching there talent round up day, the had a 13 prodigy stand-up comedian who told jokes about his wife. Blair from the Fact of Life was on it. Mark

  When the Disney Channel did the 1990s version they did not    worry about Neilsen ratings etc.     They did research on what was needed to be done on viewers.     Also, this show was filmed before a LIVE AUDIENCE . They must have done all their research in big cities. The show was clearly geared to an urban audience, with nothing but rap and hip-hop music and way too many comedy sketches
