Regards, In the past, when I worked on commercial jobs we would use a combination of nails, construction adhesive and screws.  The nails were shot in at opposite angles into the drywall with the adhesive on the back.  The nails held the molding on the wall long enough for the glue to set.  If we had to pull the molding in tight into the walls (because the wall had a bow in it), a finishing screw was used.  On the interior walls the studs were lightweight and a normal fine thread screw would work.  On the exterior walls, a heavier gauge steel was used and we had to use a special self-tapping finishing screw. What is the best way to attach small molding to _meta_l studded walls. Are there special nails for nailers? Sounds like a job for glue.  Titebond has a non-dripping, fast setting glue made for molding.  If, by some hook or crook, you can get it to stay up a few minutes you're set. Personally I'm not above using a little contact cement now and then. You can do something else while it is getting tacky. Jim L Crooks are immune to gun laws, so make gun laws for non-crooks.

rico28 is correct.  Trim screw heads are about the size of a 16d finish nail with a square drive.  Larger than most finish nails for sure but easily puttied over for stain or paint.  We also nailed down the track to concrete floors with a special nail in an air driven nail gun.  Often the ceiling installers would use a special hardened nail to nail the wall angle to the _meta_l studs with a hammer.  These methods would work with wood to _meta_l studs, but not as reliable and more damage to the wood that had to be sanded and puttied.  We also used to put in wood plates under the bottom wall tracks and around doors if we knew the client was going to have wood mouldings instead of glue-on rubber _base_.
